Bush Plum Dreaming – Polly Ngale

Polly Ngale has painted her “Budh Plum Dreaming” piece. This work represents the story of the Bush plum dreaming. The painting represents some of the colours of the Bush plum in its various stages of ripening, in Polly’s home country – Aparra in the Utopia. The women and young girls would go searching for the fruit, and this would be collected, and carried in a coolamon (which is a wooden oval shaped bowl).

The women and young girls are responsible for collecting bush tucker, seeds, fruit, and vegetables.
